Jason Buckley

Co-Founder, Managing Principal

Jason Buckley is a veteran entertainment executive with more than 20 years of experience in worldwide film distribution, sales, asset management, acquisitions, and intellectual property strategy. Throughout his career, he has helped studios, producers, investment funds, and rights holders maximize the value of their film and television assets through innovative distribution strategies, strategic licensing, and comprehensive rights management.

 

As Co-Founder and Managing Principal of Ultimate Media Group, Jason oversees the company's worldwide sales, acquisitions, and advisory services. He works closely with content owners, financial institutions, private equity firms, and producers to develop tailored monetization strategies for film and television libraries across all distribution platforms. His expertise spans valuation, rights optimization, catalog management, and international licensing, helping clients unlock long-term value from their intellectual property.

Previously, Jason served as Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales & Distribution at Village Roadshow Entertainment Group, where he led global distribution initiatives for the company's theatrical and library assets. During his tenure, he managed the international sales and monetization of more than 700 feature films across seven major film libraries—including Lakeshore, Relativity Manchester, Qualia/Pandora, Gold Circle Films, Sidney Kimmel Entertainment, and other prominent independent catalogs—on behalf of Vine Alternative Investments.  He also oversaw the international distribution strategy on Weird: The Al Yankovic Story for Roku and secured the theatrical release of Heathers: The Musical, expanding both titles' global reach.

 

Prior to Village Roadshow, Jason was Head of Worldwide Sales at Lakeshore Entertainment, leading the global distribution of films such as Peppermint and The Boy with STX, as well as The Age of Adaline, The Lincoln Lawyer, and Stand Up Guys with Lionsgate. He also managed the international licensing and ongoing exploitation of a library exceeding 500 feature films, including the Hearst Entertainment catalog, while cultivating long-standing relationships with distributors across Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, the Middle East, and emerging markets.

 

An active leader within the independent film community, Jason recently completed his second term on the Board of Directors of the Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA), where he collaborated with industry leaders to strengthen and advance the global independent marketplace.

 

Recognized for his strategic vision, deep industry relationships, and expertise in maximizing the value of intellectual property, Jason continues to advise clients on acquisitions, distribution, asset management, valuation, and long-term content monetization in an increasingly evolving global entertainment landscape.
