Jason Buckley is a seasoned entertainment executive with two decades of experience in worldwide sales, distribution, acquisitions, and strategic planning. He has played a critical role in shaping distribution strategies for major film libraries and high-profile releases, establishing himself as a leader in the global entertainment landscape. His expertise spans theatrical, digital, and international markets, where he has built and strengthened key industry relationships.
As Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Distribution at Village Roadshow Entertainment Group, Jason spearheaded distribution opportunities within the company’s slate. He played a pivotal role in the international distribution of the critically acclaimed Weird: The Al Yankovic Story and secured the theatrical release of Heathers: The Musical, based on the iconic 1989 film. Additionally, he oversaw the sales of seven major film catalogues—including Lakeshore Entertainment, Relativity Manchester, Gold Circle, and Sidney Kimmel libraries—monetizing over 700 titles for parent company Vine Alternative Investments.
Prior to his tenure at Village Roadshow, Jason served as Head of International Sales at Lakeshore Entertainment, leading the global distribution of films such as Peppermint and The Boy with STX, as well as The Age of Adaline, The Lincoln Lawyer, and Stand Up Guys with Lionsgate. His experience also includes managing intellectual property and licensing for over 500 films, including the Hearst Entertainment catalogue. A dedicated advocate for independent cinema, Jason is currently serving his second term on the Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA) board, working alongside industry executives to advance independent film distribution worldwide.
